The Story Behind BOSS
It started with a simple idea: make the business side easier.
Founder Joseph Destafino brought two worlds together: software engineering and wedding venue ownership. As a software engineer, he worked across the full product cycle, from research and architecture through development, testing, launch and ongoing improvement.
As a venue owner, he saw firsthand how much time event professionals lose juggling billing, collections, sales, marketing, vendors and customer communication. That real-world pressure shaped the way BOSS was designed.
Rather than build another generic CRM, the goal became to create a system that understands the complete event journey and continues evolving as the industry changes.

Joseph Destafino
Joseph is a self-taught software engineer, entrepreneur and venue owner whose work spans systems architecture, data management, product development and large-scale automation. Rather than approaching BOSS solely from the perspective of a software developer, Joseph built it with firsthand knowledge of what it actually takes to operate an event business day after day.
His experience as a venue owner exposed the challenges that inspired BOSS in the first place: managing leads, tours, bookings, contracts, payments, employees, vendors, customer communication and countless moving pieces without forcing a team to rely on a patchwork of disconnected systems. Those real-world frustrations became the foundation for a platform designed around how event businesses actually operate.
Joseph has been deeply involved in the architecture and continued development of BOSS, building systems capable of connecting complex business processes while keeping the experience practical for the people using them. His approach combines technical problem-solving with an operator's perspective: if a process can be automated, simplified or made more efficient, there should be a better way to do it.

With years of hands-on experience working directly with venues, planners and event professionals, Erin brings the real-world customer perspective into the continued development of BOSS. She understands not only what the software can do, but how busy event teams actually need it to work when they are managing leads, bookings, events, payments, communications and everything happening behind the scenes.
Erin helps bridge the gap between technology and the people using it, identifying where processes can be simplified, where tools can work smarter and where BOSS can eliminate another piece of manual work. Long before BOSS became a software platform, Joseph Destafino was experimenting with new ways to package and deliver wedding services. In 2012, his venue pushed an all-inclusive approach that bundled services such as catering, photography, rentals, flowers, DJ services, baking and coordination into one customer-facing package.
